The Frontier Epic is open to professional and amateur mountain bikers. No qualification is required.

Participants must be at least 19 years old. Since its inception we have seen amateurs from all walks of life compete alongside decorated professionals, including Olympians and National Champions.

You must ensure that you arrive at the Prologue start with the necessary fitness level to participate.

Fitness Levels

It is every rider's responsibility to ensure that they arrive at the Prologue start with the necessary fitness level to participate.

You are required to have a full medical checkup by your doctor before taking part. This includes supplying race organisers with the rider's medical history for the race doctors. This is essential for the planning and delivery of medical care at the event.

Each rider must also sign a personal indemnity form before they are able to compete.

Race Preparation

Most riders begin planning for a stage race like this months in advance. It is impossible to over-prepare.

Although a lot of planning goes into the physical training, nutrition strategy and preparation of your bike, mental preparation is just as important. Willpower is just as likely to get you through a tough stage as the latest and greatest carbon mountain bike. We suggest finding a veteran of mountain bike stage racing or previous finisher to help guide your preparation.
