Stages: 4 stages, 300 km, 8,500 metres of climbing

Prize Money: total purse of AED 40,000, and other prizes.

* in 2018 riders can register for the short course and ride Stage 2 and Stage 3 (Friday & Saturday)     

Cancellation before the 31st December 2017 you get back the paid entry fee less 10% processing fee.
Cancellation after that date is non-refundable. 

Entry Fee Includes

Camping (tent, mattress, pillow, sleeping bag) during the event from 22nd till 25th of February.

Airport Transfers - two pick-ups per day (9am and 8pm)
Breakfast from 23rd to 25th of February (6am to 7am) includes cereals, bread, spreads, cheese, ham, eggs, fresh fruit, tea and coffee.

Lunch from 23rd to 25th of February (1pm – 3pm) includes, bread, ham, cheese, fresh fruits, soup and pasta. 

Dinner from 22nd to 25th of February (6pm – 8pm)
includes, salads, pasta, rice, potatoes, meat or fish and fresh fruits.

Feeding Stations. Each station provides water, energy drinks, bars, gels, fruit and ice.

Items You'll Need

Each participant has to bring: 

  • A complete bike
  • One set of spare wheels

Some additional items you should bring:

  • Brake pads and discs
  • Derailleur and derailleur hanger
  • Chain and chain links
  • Zip ties
  • Shifting cables. 
  • If you have enough space, pedals and a saddle might be useful too
  • Chain oil and cleaning cloth
  • Two tyres: tubeless and solid tires are strongly recommended
  • Inner tubes
  • Pump for suspensions
  • Pump for tyres
  • CO2 cans
  • Multi tool

Ratings

Individual and overall classification according to times:

  • Ratings: Adding up time of all stages. Disqualified riders who have exceeded the time control will be excluded from the classification.
  • Identical times: The lowest number of all rankings will be considered.
  • Equality: In case of equality the better ranking of the last stage will be considered.

Traveling To Oman


Flights,Transfers &Visas

Oman Air is the national carrier with direct flights into Muscat from France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and UK, most cities in the Middle East, Egypt and Tanzania. Code-share agreements with other major airlines means that you can arrive from pretty much anywhere.

Check with Oman Embassy in your country on Passport validity, Visa, vaccinations and any other requirements. Arrange for all travel and hotel bookings for the days before & after event.

Logisics relating to the race

On the morning of Stage 1 there will be shuttle buses provided to take all entrants, their bikes and general luggage to the race village. This service is free-of-charge.


The same service will take entrants back to Muscat after the event on 26th Feb.
